Image Blur — Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using Image Blur.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The blur is applied entirely in your browser using Canvas. Your image never touches any server.

Can someone reverse the blur?

No, properly applied Gaussian blur is mathematically lossy — information is permanently destroyed. Unlike a black rectangle, there is no way to recover the original pixels.

What image formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame). Output is PNG by default to preserve transparency where applicable.

Will the output be the same quality?

The non-blurred parts retain full original quality. The blurred regions intentionally lose detail — that’s the point.

Can I blur multiple photos at once?

Not in this tool — it is designed for single-image precision. For bulk blurring, contact us about a batch tool, or use a desktop tool like ImageMagick.
