How to Generate Multiple Thumbnail Sizes from One Image

Free, step-by-step guide. No signup needed — everything runs in your browser.

1

Open the Thumbnail Creator

Navigate to the tool. No signup, no uploads to a server.

2

Upload your source image

Drop a high-resolution image — the larger the source, the better the thumbnails. JPG, PNG, WebP all work.

3

Pick a preset or define custom sizes

Choose from app icons, video thumbs, social previews, or add your own sizes. Toggle whether to keep aspect ratio or crop to exact dimensions.

4

Generate and download as ZIP

Hit Generate — all sizes are produced in your browser. Download them all in one ZIP, or grab specific sizes individually.

Tips for best results

  • Use a square (1:1) source image for app icons — it ensures crops look right at every size.
  • Start with a source at LEAST 2x the largest thumbnail size for sharp results on retina displays.
  • PNG output preserves transparency — ideal for icons. JPG produces smaller files — ideal for video and photo thumbnails.
  • For Open Graph (Facebook/LinkedIn link previews) the standard is 1200×630. For Twitter Cards it’s 1200×675.
  • Modern app icons need many sizes: iOS uses 1024, 180, 167, 152, 120, 87, 80, 60 px. Android uses 512, 192, 144, 96, 72, 48 px.
