What audio format does it record?
WebM with Opus codec — a modern compressed format that plays in most browsers and media apps. Use our MP3 Converter if you need MP3 specifically.
Where are my recordings stored?
Only on your device. The recording is held in browser memory while you work with it, and saved to your local downloads when you click save.
Can I record longer than an hour?
Yes, but long recordings consume RAM. For multi-hour sessions, record in 30–60 minute chunks and join them afterwards with our Audio Joiner.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes, in Safari on iOS 14.5+. The first time you record, iOS asks for mic permission system-wide for that browser.
Why does it ask for microphone permission every time?
Browsers grant mic access per-session for privacy. You can change this in your browser site settings to remember the permission.
