Tips for best results
- Hyphens are Google’s recommended slug separator. Underscores are treated as letter-joiners (so foo_bar reads as foobar).
- Shorter slugs rank slightly better. Aim for 3–5 meaningful words and drop articles like "the" and "a".
- Numbers in slugs are fine, but avoid dates if you ever want to update the post — dated URLs feel stale even when content is fresh.
- Once a slug is live and ranking, do not change it. If you must, set up a 301 redirect from the old URL.
- Accents (café → cafe) and symbols (& → and) are converted automatically so the slug works in any URL.
