Batch Image Converter — Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using Batch Image Converter.

Is there a limit on how many files I can convert?

No hard limit. The tool processes batches in your browser — dozens of small images convert in seconds, hundreds work fine if you wait. Very large batches (1GB+ total) may run into browser memory limits.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. All conversion happens locally in your browser using Canvas. Your images never touch any server.

What input formats are supported?

Any format your browser can decode: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, and most camera formats including modern HEIC/HEIF on supported browsers.

Will quality be preserved?

Lossless conversions (PNG to/from BMP) preserve perfect quality. JPG/WebP/AVIF use a quality setting (default 92) for an excellent visual match — you can raise it to 100 for max quality at the cost of file size.

Why does my browser slow down with many files?

Each conversion uses memory for the decoded image. Processing 50+ large photos at once can pressure your browser. If it stalls, do it in smaller batches.
